I went crawling back to iTunes. I gave Songbird a decent chance. The iPod plug-in for it has issues. They're currently in the process of rewriting the plug-in, but from the notes I've read, it's only stable with 0.4 version of Songbird. That being said, stability wasn't my complaint. It was how it synched with the device. It just... sucked
