Summertime in Illinois

Phew! It's only 75F here but it feels HOT. At least until we hit the 80-90 range. Got ceiling-fan going to stir the air (and dust). I dislike air-conditioning because it's too-cold and my nose gets dry and you're never prepared to go out because if it's hot you start sweating the moment you step-out. When it works, I like air conditioning. I like to stand in front of the vents (if they're on a wall) and let 'em blast my face with cold air and blow my hair all around. And if they're on the floor, I like to step on the cold metal with bare feet, or put my pillows on the vent for a little bit to cool them down too.

But the AC isn't powerful enough to reach my upstairs room, so I have to use a fan and an open window, and even when I do, it's too hot in here.

I prefer open windows and breezes, but the humidity gets SO BAD here in Missouri that we have to rely on AC and fans. Humidity itself would be alright, but it also gets up to ninety. Recipe for awful!
