Thanks, I used a single and I wanted to use a plied yarn, because in the photographs the stitches didn't have any of the biasing which singles show when knit up. Gauge was right, though. Just not quite what I'd wanted.

Also, I used Lamb's Pride Worsted, which I personally find scratchier than their bulky version. So, not what I'd normally pick for a hat.

Oooh, thank you!!! What size needles did you use? Did I miss that on the pattern? I'll have to learn to do the special cast on for this.

I didn't. It's size to get gauge depending on if you use a worsted or a DK. I used a US#7 with a worsted, if that helps.
