5K in 29:11 last night, which is 1:43 faster than the last time I ran, a week ago. I thought I was gonna puke for sure. I think I'm not going to challenge that PB too hard for now.
well, running won't necessarily help you lose weight. Increases in speed are very possibly related to muscle gain which could correlate to weight gain.
Is it that I'm walking a few miles a day, and that's boosting my running ability? Is it that I'm actually trying, whereas typically I haven't pushed myself at all, just climbed on the treadmill, set it to 5.5 or 5.7 mph, and climbed back off after 5K without ever really feeling it?
First, not all women are sticks, at least not at HLS. Maybe it's a Seattle/West Coast thing, or a combo of Seattle and law school? For reasons I have since forgotten, I once took a quick poll of every Harvard law student within view. All but one had parents who were still married. I'll bet that income distribution and other such stats were statistically anomalous, too. Plus I think 11% of the undergrads at Harvard are vegetarian, which is like 3x normal, and the % may be even higher on the west coast. Also, enough with the LA bashing, even if in jest... or at least restrict it to West LA and Orange County. :)
Excuse me, I believe that other than expressing disgust at the air quality and poor public transit, poking fun at blondroids is the only negative thing I've had to say about L.A. Everything else for the last 5 weeks has been glowing.
Also, "anomalies" may be too kind a word for law students. ;)
Yeah I've read your gushing about LA with amusement. It really does have its good points. I guess I'm a little touchy about LA right now; lately I've spoken to some people who had nothing good to say about LA though, especially the (sometimes literally) plastic blondroids as you term them... even though where I grew up (east of Pasadena) there weren't any of them. There's also lots of Lakers hatred outside of LA, apparently.
