Although I am quite happy that the Sonics are leaving, Sherman Alexie, who has written a column for The Stranger (Seattle's weekly alternative newspaper, editor: Dan Savage) about the Sonics ("Sonics Death Watch") for some time and who is a die-hard Sonics fan, is devastated. 21. Yeah, I cuss a lot. Get over it. In writing about basketball, it would be utterly hypocritical to abstain from cursing. Did you catch the last four minutes of the Boston Celtics game six tap-out of the Los Angeles Lakers? As they danced together on the sidelines and celebrated their world championship, Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett, and Paul Pierce danced and sang so many "motherfuckers" that the bleeped-over broadcast turned into a John Cage sound collage.

Hahahahahahaha.

The paradox to me has been always that two of the least watchable sports--baseball and boxing (mind-numbingly boring and brutal, respectively)--are the two with the most beautiful writing (at least in English in the states. Plenty of otherwise wonderful writers here have written a lot on cricket, so I suspect the principle extends, but I've so far avoided testing it.)
