My apartment is empty. Chris and Rich left Thursday for their two-week bar trip to Europe. K gets in on Wednesday. It's lonely - at night I turn on all the lights, and the TV or iTunes is always on, making noise, filling up the dreadful emptiness that permeates every room.

On the other hand, I can think of absolutely no reason to wear pants.

Pants are highly overrated.

I suggest filling the loneliness by calling people who are far away, particularly ones to whom you haven't talked in a while. And going out.

Oh my yes. I've had a house to myself ALL SUMMER! And it's just awful. I'd thought about turning on the lights but, um, well, I also have the UTILITY BILL all to myself (which was a nice little $200 or so this month, minimizing electricity and water usage as best I could). Oh the bright side, the green shag carpet is disgusting. Quite.

I lived alone for most of my time in Portland and I didn't do that stuff much; it's just that I've grown unaccustomed to living alone. At least I can put music on and shake my pants-free ass all over the living room. That definitely helps.
