Consider this: Every year hundreds of people die from 'nature' in our national parks. 1-2 a year get press coverage like mad. What makes the Kim family so lucky?

I suspect the fact that he himself was a member of the media and had friends who couldn't help but cover his disappearance (not from a beat perspective, but an "I have a platform and of course I should use it to help my friend" perspective) had a lot to do with it. I agree the selective coverage is problematic.
He was a coworker of mine. I'm passing along information on an event that some of my Bay Area friends might wish to attend (I won't be there yet). Also, I already donate. It's called taxes. So go fuck yourself.
