Written and recorded a single song? I last performed live in 2004, I think. I play guitar about once every two months now. I cannot remember the last time I played bass.
You guys, too? I thought that I was the only one freakishly unproductive, even on a personal level, just for myself. Just not being around a group that makes music, even casually, seems to have deadened inspiration. I don't hear melody just forming in my head spontaneously in the same way, anymore. And when I noodle around on the guitar, I'm not conjuring up new chord progressions as a matter of course, but just playing something already known. We needed others to draw it out of us, it seems. That creativity may be going to other things, like my theological work and my teaching, but it's not the same as music....
I agree. I've always needed other musicians around to inspire me and to bounce ideas and whatnot. Now I play Puff The Magic Dragon on guitar for my kids, which is great on a totally different level, but still...
Aww, that's really nice. Thanks for sharing that with me. I think Ox put Bonner Mead on that mix but I haven't listened to it in a long time, so let me know if it's a different song. Ox made me about 12 mixes altogether. Good stuff. How are you?
