Lovely set-up. I like the contrast between Ginny's perception of herself and of Astoria. It really drives home the sense of regret.

The irritation at Harry for underhanded Quidditch maneuvers is a bonus entertainment.

Thanks Phae! I actually feel bad for Harry. He's not that terrible of a character but since this is from Ginny's perspective, I wanted to highlight her regret. You do what you have to do. *pats Harry on head and smiles apologetically*

Right, I'm not convinced that you've somehow slipped into my mind and nicked Astoria when I wasn't looking. She's almost precisely as I imagine her to be which is odd considering how many different possibilities there are with her character.

I think I particularly like the fact that Astoria knows about Draco and Ginny's past. It adds a new dimension to their relationship and the plot. I also liked the observation that Ginny has somehow found herself playing the part of the housewife when she never imagined she would end up that way.

Altogether a really enjoyable update. :)

Thanks!

Well I'm not sure how you felt about DH/Epilogue Ginny but I never thought she would end up so...compliant when it came to Harry. I wanted to at least get in her head and say no, no, no.

Haha, how was Astoria like yours? I've absolutely *refused* to read any Astoria fic because I wanted to get her down before I read anyone else's and find she had wandered out into someone else's head.

Well, I've got a half planned out Astoria/Draco fic that I was thinking about writing (if I ever get the time). In it, my Astoria was in and out of Hogwarts and spent some time being home schooled due to a debilitating childhood illness/curse that she's still having problems with in later life. She's small and rather delicate. In my head she would have been in Ravenclaw. Er, what else... I see her as being perceptive and patient as well. There are all sorts of little details that I haven't really worked out yet... As you can possibly tell, lol. Although I did have her as blonde rather than brunette.

I have so many issues with how Ginny came across in DH in general - not just in the epilogue. She came across as very downtrodden to me.

What are the chances that both our Astorias would be disabled?! While I'm sure our Astorias will be different in a million ways - including the extent and cause of the disability - I find it incredible that we came up with this independently! I would love to read your take on Astoria. My Astoria only attended Hogwarts for a year or two (and only because that would make it canon compliant!) before it became too difficult for her because of the lack of accomodations and acceptance in wizarding schools, re: Squibs and other wizards and witches in sort of reduced states. Underlying politics and all that ( ... )

A most unexpected turn of events. Your Astoria is surprising indeed, and I like her. Fabulous job with your Ginny POV, btw. Whatever lead D&G is break up all those years ago? Is this what happens when a Draco-centric D/G shipper falls into D/A? I'm hooked.

Why did you edit this five times??

I didn't think of that backstory since I've sort of been there, done that and this was more about introducing and getting my Astoria down. Now I can use my Astoria icon! (I really like Astoria now...)

1) I'm a notoriously delayed thinker. Yep, slow that way. I kept thinking of new things I wanted to say so I added and added, thinking you wouldn't mind, but perhaps I was wrong... 2) I enjoy spamming you.

Hmm, all the wonderfully tangled threads of the story slowly becoming visible - Harry and Ginny's relationship, her past with Draco, the fact that Astoria *knows* about this and Harry doesn't, Harry's utter failure to communicate...I really like how you're giving us glimpses at all these different layers, and I'm curious how it'll all come together (and how you'll wrap this up in just one more part!). :) Your Astoria is a complete surprise; I enjoyed that. Now I wish we could see, step by step in great detail, how Draco came to love (yes?) and marry her. As ever, I want more! *laughs*

I will fill in a few holes but it's not my intention to have a *complete* story in the sense that all the threads will be untangled or even discussed. I would like to write the Draco / Astoria backstory separately. I have it all figured out but I don't have time to write it unfortunately. I still haven't read the D/A story. I hope I don't forget to read it - I only remember these things fleetingly.

Haha, how did you imagine Astoria? (Unless it's the Astoria for the story you rec'd - then I don't want to know quite yet!)

I haven't really thought about how I see 'my' Astoria. I want to write D/A at some point, but I'd have to think it through some more and I'm a little preoccupied with other writing just now *g*

Yeah, I can tell you're not planning to give us all the answers - as per usual *laughs* You tease! I hope you'll find time to write more soon. Studying law is such a bother. Believe me, I feel it too. *snort*

You feel the pain of studying law? Because I'm not writing or because of your own experience with the law? *g* I think what I have on my plate right now is all there will be for the rest of the semester. We're covering tax credits today. Sufficiently confused about the difference between a deduction and a credit and how that interacts with depreciation...so could I get a video lecture from the fiance on this?

I can't wait to read the last chapter.

Reading that Astoria knew about Ginny/Draco relationship and that he takes Astoria to the Quidditch games made me think. "OMG, Draco is in love with his wife. He is totally over Ginny. Poor girl can't say the same."

I also wondered does Harry know about d/g's past and that's why he hasn't told her about playing quidditch with Draco.

Thanks for the review! I will actually resolve most of your questions...I think. It's already been planned out but sometimes I end up being more obscure than I think I am being.

Thanks again! :)
