Stitch at batevil_koala_626September 3 2009, 22:38:13 UTC
Having quietly observed the first few plays, Stitch's curiosity had deviated sometime during the beginning of this inning. Said curiosity had led to some impromptu exploratory surgery of one of the spare balls by the The Enigmas' bench. This had progressed in to a game of Cat's Cradle and had cumulated in a desperate attempt to disentangle himself from the ensuing snarl of yarn before anyone of importance noticed.
The alien pauses mid walk up to kick the last trailing remains of yarn off one leg before hoisting the bat in to position.

Despite a lack of experience in playing the game with out the use of kitchen utensils, dealing with supernaturally enhanced opponents, or facing off against anyone who isn't a small child; Stitch has one thing going for him: he has the smallest strike zone in the game. Still, probably not much of a challenge for Alice. Especially when one factors in the alien's enthusiasm with a bat.

Alice giggles as she catches the ball on its way back to her. She twirls the ball in her fingers for a moment before winding back and throwing, trying to give him a ball he can hit.

And hit it he does!
Wood meets horsehide with a deeply satisfying crack. The ball rockets off to the left in a low arc that sends it careening into foul territory at a truly impressive speed.
Strike two!
To say Stitch looks unhappy to be returning to the plate would be something of an understatement.

"Grrrrrr!" Replies Stitch, tightening his grip on the bat.
What skill Stitch has was pretty much bound, gagged and locked in a steamer trunk by his frustration after the second call. This might possibly be conveyed in his swing.
Whiff! Or his back swing. WHIFF!
"rrrrrAAAAARGHRARGHRARGH!"
Or the fact that the bat is currently being converted in to mulch.

"Stitch," Meg says again, and the umpire voice is getting a lot better, "this is not very sportsmanlike conduct. You can cut it out, or you can leave the game.
"And I'd really hate to have to ask you to do that."

"You have a little bit of yarn--" She breaks off as he shakes the last off. Smiling she tosses to the alien.

"One more!" She says, waving the ball at him. She winds, leg up, and throws toward Stitch.

She wouldn't!
Would she?

"Okay, okay," croaks the alien in a put upon tone.

And then adds, just to make it official, "You're out. This time.
"But you'll have other turns."
(She can't wish him luck, she's the umpire, and taking the impartiality thing very seriously. But she can remind him he has other chances to bat.)

And number 53, Crowley, returns to the plate.
