Someone has written a Crosby/Malkin story set during the Finnish Winter War. Like, I'm intrigued, sure, but also apprehensive. Also, I don't know if you've notice this, but neither of them are Finnish. Crosby must be a Canadian volunteer (I think there were some? There were British ones, at least.) There is no problem with wasting free time. Doing nothing is a perfectly valid option. Even if that does include watching hockey XD

I read the story last night (hiding the basement on my mom's computer, avoiding the family) and while I know nothing about the Finnish Winter War, it wasn't egregiously badly handled/offensive (to me as a reader). Geno is a Russian POW, Sidney (and Mario) are apparently Finns, though there' s no explanation for why there's not even a pretence at changing their names. but if you have better ways to waste time - I hear knitting is good - you'd probably be just fine ignoring the story altogether.

there's a Slovakian [ETA: I tell a lie, he's Czech] kid named Masin, pronounced 'machine', which is awesome.

This is probably more appealing to me than it has any reason to be. If I still had my icons, I would use Anakin's robo-hand, but alas.
