I didn't mind the assembly work, but when you say 'no one standing over me'... oh boy. constant monitoring, auditing, checking. They would literally have people come stare at you and critique your phone assembly form during the shift. Like, black marks and stern talkings-to for having your component trays aligned wrong, picking up parts with the wrong hand. Every move was mandated.

And right now at the call centre, the supervisors listen to the calls, of course. They're a bit nicer about it here, though, maybe bc it's a smaller workplace. But still. Constant monitoring, constantly.

Working in a call centre helping people who call in would definitely be better than having to make outgoing calls. Even it is a survey rather than trying to sell people things, I can imagine they still get annoyed at being disturbed at inopportune times - I know I do. But there would be worse jobs.

The lack of sun in winter does grow disturbing. I wish you shiny dreams of warm summer days :-)
