congratulations on your terrific batch of feels - I support you in them all! though I don't really share the random Rangers hate - they have a Staal, you know. my own hatred is reserved for the Coyotes *boo, hiss* and to a lesser extent the Flyers, though I admit to being a complete sucker for the Brioux family. (French/Elvish is the best description of Danny I've ever stumbled across)

the Coyotes hate started because they're punk ass ne'er-do-wells, but Raffi's criminal behavior definitely cemented that opinion in my brain. and now with all the relocation speculation, there've even been rumours of their ending up here (though it's not most likely) which if it occurred probably would require I become a fan or something.
I have heard that hockey fandom is great! I'm glad you're enjoying yourself and I will relegate myself to jealousy at the epic fics full of pining and stupid boys not being in touch with their feelings that hockey fandom is full of (at least I hear that's what hockey fandom is full of).
Meanwhile, a boyband happened to me. There is significantly more touching (SIGNIFICANTLY) and the boys are woefully in touch with their feelings to the point of their lives being a sap/weepfest that would seem OTT if we wrote about it. The downside is it's really hard to write anything about them that they haven't done and worse. It's.... a weird fandom to be in. (but I miss you and all other popslashers terribly)
dude, hockey fandom is BEST! if you have a few moments to spare from your boyband, you totally owe it to yourself to try the waters - dumbasses in love are so!much!fun!!!

Oh no, oh no, I took, like, five minutes to go link-hopping since, you know, we've known each other a Very Long Time, and I am cautiously intrigued. Good lord, there's a lot of fic. Also, Eric Staal is quite hot in some pictures, but looks as if he can look in two directions at once in quite a lot of others. Dark-eyed ginger? Sold. I have a type.
Ahhh, gingers. There are a lot of gingers in hockey. The Bad Staal (Marc, the Ranger) is way gingerer than Eric, although a less strawberry type. Jordan Staal, aka Traitor Staal, is like Eric's unfortunate buttfaced clone. There's a fourth Staal, Jared, aka Minor League Loser Staal.
Personally, if we're grabbing gingers, I'm partial to Duncan Keith, who is the handsomest man to ever get all his front teeth knocked out in one bloody go. Also Claude Giroux (also missing a front tooth, but just the one!) has a certain young ginger Chris Cooper thing going that I occasionally appreciate, especially if he's standing next to THE FRENCH ELF OF MY HEART.
oh, hockey fandom, near and dear to my bruins-loving heart. i have SUCH fond memory of my days of discovery. enjoy the ride! (also, 2mins4slashing wins for best fannish double-entendre.)
