My life, let us recap what is going on in it...

1. I promised my mother to clean and paint her attic. Status: a mess.

2. I have signed up to do freelance translation for this online place. So far I've made 65 €. Now I have a Big Fucking Project that is due in eight days and I can't get the translation software to work. Status: FUBAR and

ISOtranslation -- they were specifically recruiting native speakers of Nordic languages, especially Finnish and Swedish, but I'm sure Spanish is useful too. Unfortunately I can't find the recruitment link now. There was a link on a university messageboard someplace but for some reason it's vanished into the darks of the internets. But there are a lot of online translation places. Google might tell you more. Usually, I think, it's just a question of finding them and then doing a test translation. They asked for my qualifications but I tested even though I have absolutely none. And now I'm doing these massive technical translation projects, ladidadi. Either I'm SUPER FABULOUS or they're not all that particular. Time will tell.

Random unconsciousness is so embarrassing, oh god. I almost passed out in the middle of examining a patient today, while I was supposed to look like a competent and trustworthy med student. I had to stagger out of the room with a really lame excuse and try to find somewhere to lie down where I wouldn't be found by any nurses and cause a fuzz. It was really reassuring to come home and read your story. I'm impressed that you made it all the way home with no one noticing!

Especially since I looked like a zombie. But I was wearing sunglasses, which probably helped distract from how I was grey in the face and my eyes kept rolling up... Also in Finland you can easily get away with not speaking in stores, you just grunt and nod and no one thinks it's weird. Thank god for a nation of grumpy mutes.

But yeah, jeez. I did it at work once and they DID call an ambulance. Good thing I was so groggy I didn't even feel embarrassed. But I was also too groggy to tell anyone that there wasn't anything wrong with me, just a slightly over-excitable vagus nerve... So there was a big old fuss.

Oh man, almost passing out with the hidden kitty in tow, eek. That alone is, in fact, cause for a post of woe. Nevermind the rest of it! Particularly re: the job timing that isn't quite right -- not an easy decision to make.

But on the other hand, Mikey Way is surprisingly cheering. Good way to end the post!
