I've been getting into acorn squash recently. In the past I've never been quite successful at baking them. Added onto the fact that most of the recipes out there call from brown sugar or a cinnamon/ nutmeg combination - and I'm an fan of neither.

When it all comes down to it I believe that I just prefer cooking in fall/ winter over the spring/ summer season. The majority of the things that I know how to cook are stove/ oven based and I don't like turning them on as much when it's hot outside. It seems that every time a crowd of people orders pizza that pepperoni gets called out as one of the toppings and veggie pizza as the second. As not being a huge fan of pepperoni but enjoying meat if there is a third pizza I call for sausage. Now this is not strange and I'll fully used to it ( Read more... )

I did this great job of spending the weekend cleaning and getting caught up on listening to a lot of my regular podcasts. This was great because it lowered my list by quite a bit and it made cleaning really enjoyable. I tried to cut my finger off the other day. So far it seems to be healing up nicely. Still hurts if I brush it against something too hard but that's to be expected. With sharp knives in the house it was at least a clean cut that's healing smoothly ( Read more... )

Almost feeling moved in. Discovered the floor of the living room. Rearranged the bedroom to discover the floor there (plus a reading corner for when we get a chair in there).
