In the Leyline of Fire (6 of 7?) - part 2

6. (Continued...)

I watched Ivy approach with a long-legged stride that dozens of models would probably kill for. The glimmering of light from a street lamp somewhere and the fading night sky was enough for me to see her by.

Her robe furled around her, a silken blue so dark as to be almost black, the color of deep oceans. I’d always put the ( Read more... )

I'm in awe. I knew you were good, but this is ridiculous. I don't even know where to begin.

Ivy at the piano? Loved it.

Ivy's grand plan? Blown the hell away.

Ivy and Rachel making up? Awwwwww X infinity :D

Final line? Damn straight 130 years is not enough.

That was awesome. You delivered like... something that really, REALLY delivers. Sorry, the awesomeness is giving me a case of the dumb. I'll come up with a better metaphor once my brain reboots. *brain crashes again from awesomeness* uhm... better not hold your breath for that.

Lol I hope your brain reboots soon! This chapter gave me a lot of trouble because first, I was writing for an audience with high expectations (*grumble*), and second, it had to be at least as good as chapter 5. Just so people wouldn't think I was completely mean. :P But also because I wanted the making up to be as good, if not better, than the kicking out part ( ... )

To sum it up, they nearly got together, nearly broke up (without exactly getting together) and now it looks like they're on their way to making up. Does that help? :) Someone once called this story an emotional roller-coaster ride.

okay, yeah it helps a lot, I guess I needed it in simple terms and I'm definitely understanding why they called it an emotional roller-coaster ride.

That was beautiful. I went and listen to the music that you mention and it made such an impact (cause I had to read a second time.)

I like how you go back in time with Kristen, Rachel sleeping outside when Ivy had to go to Piscary, or when they met at IS.

Yesterday I went on Kim Harrison site and there was a sample of the illustrated novel. I had my doubt for that project but there is a scene where Ivy is pulling an aura on Devon and I must say I was please with the result.

Looking forward for new chapters.

Thanks! Music had a big impact on this chapter. I was imagining what Ivy would play and then ended up having those tracks on repeat while I wrote.

There used to be a lot of great scenes in the books, and that's where those past scenes came from. Except for that part where Ivy was leaning on her bike and waiting for Rachel, that one was purely a figment of my Ivy-centric imagination. :)

Thanks for telling me about that! I really hope that the graphic novel (which I heard it was from Ivy's POV) is done right! I'd hate for it to go the way of BMS. :P
