Paula Abdul's Straight Up Vampire: A History of Vampires in Colonial Pennsylvania is the sort of musical I would make if I had the talent and wherewithal to do so. You know, bizarre, surreal, based on an absurd premise, and full of 80's music.

I try to be nice to evangelists: even if they're being obnoxious, they're only trying to save your soul. But today I got handed a Church of Scientology flier.

There's a group putting together a musical theater version of the Wicker Man. Unfortunately, it's the original, not the Nicholas Cage version. "AUGH NOT THE BEES THEY'RE IN MY EYES" would be the big climactic number. Goddammit.

Abney Park. I can't decide if I like their music or just their aesthetic and gimmick. Their bit is that they're a crew of airship pirates. There's nothing particularly bad about their music, but I'm really apathetic about it.

Yesterday I was stuck waiting for the train when the power lines iced over, so I pulled out my poi and played around for a while.
