[Note: Same old drill people. Your band does not have to be on the official tours to participate in the one in the RP. Want to be a Fuse/MTV VJ or reporter? Okay. Merch person, drum tech? Fine. Or even just a groupie. Any kind of band is welcome, well known or not (Finnish, J-Rock, etc). We will give special notice on what the rules for mpreg will be during the upcoming tour season. We are currently in the off season, with no mandatory tours.]
16 Easy Rules:
1. Know your character. Simple. If you Role Play like a n00b, you’ll get treated like one. You have to be able to hold your own, I cannot stress that enough. But, none of us really KNOW these people, so their personalities are up for interpretation. There is no specific way to play a specific person. Characters for the band's friends are allowed. Original characters are allowed as long as they have some sort of job (roadie, sound tech, merch guy, etc.) Also, bringing IC drama into the OOC repeatedly is grounds for deletion. Same thing with OOC drama into the IC.
2. If you’re interested in joining, fill out the application, and unless there are any major problems, you’ll be accepted. Yes, you DO need a character journal and an AIM. WAIT TO BE ACCEPTED BEFORE YOU ADD ANYONE. Please read the FAQ before you apply.
3. No webspeak. And please, try to at least have some sort of grammar.
4. Serious issues like m-preg (more info on this will be available if you are accepted) and character death need to be discussed with a mod first. Please remember to be semi-realistic. This isn’t a completely AU RP, but we’re willing to be open minded. And yes, this is Slash. Sorry if that wasn't clear before. Female character membership is now open. Het RP gets you kicked out, no questions asked. Female characters are expected to RP femmeslash, just like male characters are expected to RP slash. Character death and adoptions (during the m-preg off season) must be approved by a mod and no more than five children per couple.
5. Updates are weekly. You will be deleted if you don't update once a week.
6. All entries are Friends Only.
7. Pictures don’t have to be under a cut, but they are encouraged to be considerate of people who have slower connections.
8. Third character applications will be accepted after you've had your second character a month. Contact the mod for anything further. You may not be two people in the same band and no god-play unless given permission. You may not apply for two characters at the same time; once we see that you are fairly active, you may apply for another if you chose to do so.
9. Please use a disclaimer in your user info. Put “World Series attitude,” in the subject line of your application. If you don't, it's obvious that you didn't read the rules.
10. If you don’t follow the rules, you will get kicked out.
11. Please don't join if you expect people to tell you how to RP. You can do storybook or asterisk, but storybook is the stand. Also, if you're going to recycle a journal from another RP, please make sure you're not still a member of that community, it's blank, and you don't have any friends on it from past RPs.
12. You have to actually participate, you can't just write a story. Don't complain that no one RPs with you when you don't even IM anyone and make the effort yourself. Also, we do not allow characters to join with pre-established significant others. If you want to make this a home for your line, do so by all means but all characters should be single when they first enter the community. Contact the moderator if you think you have an exception to this rule.
13. Characters are non-transferable. Meaning, if one of your friends wants to take over your character, you have to pull them first and then they can apply.
14. Bands that do not exist anymore are not allowed.
15. Original characters are allowed. However, if you choose to create one and use a PB, you MUST provide a link showing the PB is over the age of eighteen.
16. ALL celebrity characters must be over the age of seventeen. All PB characters must be at least seventeen within the context of the game, and the face of the character must be eighteen in real life.

Mod ~

The mod reserves the right to kick you out if you break the rules or verbally abuse other members OOC. If you don't like that concept, then just don't do it. Once you're out, you're out, so trash talking the mods won't do you any good. Also, if you have been banned and there are reasonable suspicions that you have snuck back in, you WILL be kicked right back out.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does my journal have to have user pics, the info filled in, and a disclaimer before I apply?
A: No, all of this actually can be done after you apply (if you created a new journal), just in case you don’t get accepted.
Q: What if I didn’t update within the deadline and got kicked out, can I re-apply?
A: Yes, but you won’t get added again until I update. After the second time you may not be allowed back in. This means that if you get kicked out because of lack of updates, I may not accept your application immediately and no, you can't hold the character while you wait. That defeats the purpose.
Q: What happens after Warped Tour ends?
A: After Warped ends in August, your character will be off tour, doing whatever they like, and *when Taste of Chaos starts, then Warped RP will be Taste of Chaos RP, even though the community name will still be warpedrp.
Q: Does this RP actually follow the timeline of the real Warped Tour?
A: It does if you want it to. The Warped Tour aspect is just a setting and time of year, though I do provide dates for your convenience.
Q: If I make a private post, does it still count as an update?
A: Yes. Just because the mod can't see it, that does not mean it doesn't count. I'll be able to tell whether you updated or not, don't worry.
Q: Does the person I want to play have to be in a band that is actually on Warped Tour?
A: Not at all.
Q: Do miscarrages and multiple births need mod approval?
A: Miscarrages do not. Due to the large number of multiple births in the past though, they do need mod approval.
Q: I love the way this page is designed. Can you give me the HTML for the AIM scripts?
A: No. I'm sure there are websites you can get it from but I wrote that code myself after cloning the LJ AIM script. Instead of "World Series attitude," put "World Series attitude, champagne bottle life." in the subject line.
Q: Why doesn't the AIM script show me online sometimes when I am?
A: Sometimes it just doesn't refresh properly.
Q: I've always wanted to join an RP but I have no clue how to do it or how it works, can you teach me?
A: Yes. Just IM Bring Me KNIVES and I'll be happy to give you the basics. This RP has a range of skill levels so most likely you won't be the only one here who doesn't have much experience.
Q: During the off-tour season, is there still active RPing?
A: Yes. Just like in real life, these people DO have a life outside music tours.
Q: Does the five children per couple limit mean that my character can have five more with another person, if they've already had five?
A: No.
Q: There's a rule against bands that don't exist anymore? Like who?
A: Like bands that split up before you applied like The Matches or really old bands like The Beatles. However, if you would like to apply for a character from a broken up band and give them job, feel free. A good example is if the character sells merch for another band, is a tech, or has a clothing line to sell on tour.
Q: When you say 'femmeslash' (lesbian slash), does that mean that my female character cannot be bisexual?
A: Just like the male characters, you can say they're bi but any kind of het RP is not allowed here.
Q: I see some characters have Twitters. Do I have to get one?
A: No. Twitters are an optional feature of the RP. You aren't required to have one, and if you should choose to get one, you aren't required to add anyone you don't want to. If you get one, please make your updates private.
Q: What counts as a celebrity character?
A: The moderator should be able to find information about them on the first few pages of Google with no problem. This includes resources like Myspace, Purevolume, a Facebook fan page or a Wikipedia article. Otherwise this character will count as an original character. If you're not sure if your character counts, just speak to the moderator.
Q: Who can I have as a face for my original character?
A: Anyone, though we ask that you not use faces within the music scene. It wouldn't do to have an original character with say, Lady Gaga's face, and then have a Lady Gaga join up, right? Just please remember as stated in the rules above, your character must be at least seventeen, and the real person whose face you're using MUST be over the age of eighteen.
Q: What do you mean by pre-established significant others are not allowed?
A: You cannot join as Character A and then have Character B apply as Character A's spouse/boyfriend/etc. Joining that way only encourages the two characters to play only with each other and it doesn't give other players a chance to be fully involved in a line with them. Feel free to develop an actual storyline and have your characters hook up once they've already been established in the community. Everyone hates those two characters that only scene with each other, right?
