Nesterino had soccer practice on Thursday, and the LM had one on Friday. Both were at 5:00, in 90 degree weather with full sun :-( I am ready for cooler weather! Today they both had games, Nesterino a game at 10:00 and the LM at noon. It's not worth our while leaving between games, so we stayed at the field. Nesterino's team won their game. ( Read more... )

I went to a baby shower today. It was for the daughter of the friend, whose husband died last week. They had moved it once, and decided that the fellow would have wanted us to have the shower. I am very thankful for pat_levesque_63 taking care of the LM and Nesterino for me this morning. My friend's husband (the one I spoke of in my last post), died on Friday. His disease, hemorrhage, infections were too much for him to overcome. They had a memorial service with a reception afterward. It was quite a week. School went pretty well, and the workbox system worked beautifully, except for Thursday... The LM noticed that I had given her a 10 minute break, and Nesterino a 20 minute one. The SE Homeschooling Expo was this weekend, and I wanted to go and look at some curriculum for the LM. I had decided on most of what we are doing in the fall, but I wanted to get my hands on a few of the books. I needed some canned pineapple, so I stopped by Kroger on my way home from taking the kids to art camp. I always check the meat department for manager's specials. They had marked down ground turkey and on sale whole chickens. I left the store with 9 pounds of meat, two 20 ounce cans of pineapple and a bunch of bananas for $11. I did have a ( Read more... )
