I felt the same way at my grandpa's funeral. There were a million old people there that I didn't know, and I kept having to be introduced as "the oldest granddaughter" and enduring their anecdotes about my grandpa. And I know they meant well, but he was my grandpa, and only your coworker or friend. It's not the same.

I'm terrible at times like these, but just know that you're not alone. I wish you and your family the best. *hug*

this may sound a bit insensitive, but will you be able to bring your cell phone with you? that's still one way to stay in touch with some of us and even get a text message here and there so the craziness of the situation doesn't get to you. i'll always be willing to talk or whatever you need to get you through this.
