Hopping from flight path to flight path to get my Coins of Ancestry is boring this year. Let's spice up the Lunar Festival with some bad roleplay profiles!
Night-elf demon children... I might not be a fan of Night Elves personally, but you're an abomination. She even calls herself a "type of succubus taken form in a night elven body", yet she has a tail and moves in a "feline way". Okay, forget abomination, I don't think there's a word for this

Catgirl. She even wears a collar with a bell on it.
I'm going to keep beating a dead horse regarding the first one's grammar. I can't tell if they're foreign (ie English is not their native tongue) or what, because they have a very strong sense of prose, but the sentences themselves are difficult to read... If they are from an English speaking country... blah.
I really need to stop it with the grammar-nazism. I seem to harp on that a lot. But hey, if one is going to tell a story, the LEAST one can do is make it coherent, right? As for the rest of it.... it's fine for ERP, but little else. And in ERP you don't really need much backstory, do you? Don't break the lore because you wanna be a unique sex toy.
The second one is just... too much in too small a space. Less is more, and would help her a lot. Particularly because "less" would mean fewer contradictory statements.
I won't bother with the rest since as was stated previously, ERP is not a case of sueism, per se. Though that aside, I think a clumsy draenei spellcaster sounds cute.
I posted the last one because of two things: her blatant cribbing from Tali'Zorah (who, I noted above, tends to be a fetish figure) and some intentionally emphasized features which scream, "Pay attention to me, I am tragic!" Obviously there's ERP involved, but overall it's a badly-written package. If she kept the first paragraph and wiped the rest, her profile would have been a-OK.
I have to give her credit for not divulging that draenei's past in detail, though. The only thing worse than an artificially-made pity machine character is one that gleefully goes into tons of detail about their abuse, without being asked.
Ah, I forgot that part. I'm not familiar with Mass Effect, sadly.
I sometimes copy names from other works, but the characters are wholly my own, so I can agree with blatant rip-offs. Not just bad, but terribly lazy. And you're right, it is a whole lot of "Look-at-me-ness."
This. I've been helping a friend prepare to get back into WoW on an RP realm, and I ended up telling her the hardest part of making a character in an MMO is embracing the fact that we are not the badasses. Oh, we come close sometimes, but in the end, we -work for- the badasses. It's an integral part of the storytelling. So if you can't tone down the amazingness of your character, you will run headlong into the lore all day long.
Badarse is not automatic. Badarse does not happen because you want it to. Badarse is not something you can flick a switch or write a line of character description and simply have happen.
If your description goes out of the way to say the character is a badarse, then you fail at badarse
Well said, that. And the only reason Illidan wasn't killed outright is he only became a demon in the last couple decades (after being locked up for ten thousand years for being a total butt-munch), and that he was just too awesome.
And he is one of my favorite major characters too (despite being unable to keep a straight face when I see him thanks to Azerothian Super Villains).
