I love that new ship smell

LAPTOP FIXED. Hallelujah, god save the king, etc.

Soooo SPN 8x03. Good news, everybody, I didn't like this episode. What a relief, right? Coming away from SPN feeling quite happy (albeit with a constant load of 'fingers in ears la la la' fanwanking) was just unsettling.

OH GOD THE HORRIBLE PICNIC FLASHBACK

TREE WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS

IT WAS SO CRINGE-INDUCING

I THREW MYSELF OFF THE COUCH AND HID UNDER A BLANKIE

I care less about Sam's relationship with whatsherface than I do about Scott and Allison's ~*TWOO WUV*~ and that is pretty hard to beat.

THE WORST PART OF IT

WAS WHEN THE FLASHBACK ENDED

AND THE SCREEN WENT BACK TO SAM

AND HE SMILED A LITTLE 'AW YIS REMEMBERING MY PICNIC' SMILE

TO REMIND US THAT THE WRITERS THINK SAM LOVES PICNICS

tho screw you Scott and Allison are adorbs

TREE

IMAGINE IF WHENEVER THE WRITERS WANTED TO IDEALISE ROMANTIC NORMALCY THAT INSTEAD OF TRYING TO PUSH IT ON THE WINCHESTERS THEY JUST HAD GLOWY SCENES OF SCOTT/ALLISON AND THEN RETURNED TO THEIR REGULARLY SCHEDULED WINCHESTERS AND DEMONS AND ANGST.

it would be so much more pleasing to me

I MUST WARN YOU THAT THERE IS A CHEESY VOICE OVER NARRATION THAT SEEMS REALLY STUPID AT FIRST BUT YOU GET USED TO IT, just let it into your heart

On first watching this episode I was less than impressed, myself; the whole Sam flashback didn't do a thing for me emotionally and was lit so strangely I felt like this was some kind of anvil hitting me on the head about something IMPORTANT about Sam's arc but I just wasn't getting it; then I found this commentary online, and if this person's thoughts are anywhere close to approaching what MIGHT be going on in the writers' heads, then it all begins to make sense and the episode takes on a whole new and deeper meaning. After reading this commentary I appreciated the episode in a whole new way and it actually made me a bit more excited about what MIGHT be ahead as far as the show actually going more into the boys' relationship during the season. So I urge you to read this commentary and then come back and give your thoughts on the matter:

Arrow is worth watching then. Eyeshadow, naked man-chest, damage.

Yes.

Yes, yes and yes. So many tragic daddy issues, too.

AND every episode there are flashbacks to his time on the island chronologically (ie first ep when he was floating all alone on the lifeboat, second ep when he first crawled onto the island) so there is lots of WEE 22 YEAR OLD DOUCHEY BABY OLLIE LOST AND ALONE ON AN ISLAND style trauma.

ARROWWWWWWWWWW. HIS AAAAAAAAAAAABS. lol my boyfriend is pissed off because "superheroes don't kill people!!1!!" and i'm all "FUCK YEAH OLLIE YOU GET THAT BAD GUY" whoops?

oh supernatural. it's like a repeat of last season, first two episodes pull you in and the third one makes you wonder why you showed up at all. :(

HIS BEAUTIFUL, TORTURED ABS :')))) ARGUABLY this version of Ollie isn't even a superhero anyway (yet?), he's more of a vigilante with a secret identity. And vigilantes with secret identities are totes free to kill as many baddies as they like Within Reason.

No, no, wasn't 7x03 the most glorious episode of all where handholding vanquished Hallucifer?? Or am I misremembering the episode order? But yeah, quibbles aside, this is the way of SPN :/ starts off some promisingly, does not ever keep promise.

Ah. I'd be okay watching him have a psychotic break and killing everything, tbh. Long as they keep giving us DEM ABBBBBBBBS.

I'm pretty sure the wonderful I'M REAL HOLD MY HAAAAND scene was in 7.02. 7.03 is the one with Jewel Staite as Amy Pond, Sam's childhood friend and he ~runs off without Dean to help her and then Dean shoots her D-E-D and I was super upset with him for like a week. Which set the tone for the rest of the season pretty well.

YES I would be so okay with that so long as he did it shirtless, though I figure having a psychotic break and killing everything (except Dig ok) would push him outside of vigilante and into actually being an actual serial killer without a shirt on.

Ugh I think you're right. That fucking episode! You've brought back all my rage at that episode! It was a pretty decent and enjoyable episode full of grey shades and questions etc and then BAM RUINED BY DEAN.
