Well IN THEORY, my laptop is fixed, as I reinstalled Windows last week. Only it was a bogstandard download installer than Male BFF helped me with, rather than the actual stuff for my laptop, so software is missing and things are still generally being a bit odd ( Read more... )

I had a Samsung laptop for 6+ years. I had to replace the harddrive entirely twice, and towards the end of its life keys were literally starting to fall off. I had to Frankenstein parts together by sacrificing lesser-used keys to repair the ones I needed 8|

BOOKSHOP AVENGERS, YES. HAS THIS BEEN WRITTEN YET???//

.... Actually, when you said Steve works in a rare bookshop my brain immediately jumped to a Good Omens AU >.> (Aziraphale!Steve and Crowley!Tony is too perfect 8D)

I've had this laptop for only a little over two years. It is TOO YOUNG TO BE CAUSING ME SO MUCH TROUBLE. I'm pretty sure it's going to have another end of life incident soon. I guess I was asking for trouble when I named it after Captain America.

I DON'T THINK IT HAS BUT I'M SURE I WOULD PROBABLY END UP WRITING IT.

.... so obviously Natasha = War. Bruce = ... pollution? I guess you could argue some kind of 'polluted by SCIENCE!' thing. I guess Clint could be Death. Not the actual Death, but a Death substitute. The big guy with the skull has gone on holiday so Clint's holding down the fort.

BUT THAT WOULD MAKE THOR FAMINE AND THAT MAKES NO SENSE AT ALL, except perhaps if the famine is caused because Thor has eaten all the food.

Maybe everyone is always commenting on how Famine chose such a weird replacement when he retired.

So SHIELD is basically Barnes&Noble?

...actually, with almost no changes to Tony Stark's existing characterization, he could easily invent some sort of super-high-end e-reader/tablet that has a million hours of battery life and is compatible with everything and gets internet practically everywhere and be in the middle of using his corporate might to try to get the publishing rights to practically everything ever written so he can sell it in e-book form. For all we know, he could already be doing that on the weekends when he gets bored with solving the world's energy problem.

I GUESS. B&N isn't in the UK anymore and I never lived close enough to one to frequent it, but yes.

It makes a lot of sense really! He makes phones, and presumably they're smartphones because I can't imagine Tony Stark endorsing anything else, therefore surely they have e-book apps so it would only take a very little step to go in a more e-read-y direction.

I bet you could make calls and send texts from StarkReaders too. StarkBooks?

I know they're very big on both pushing their e-reader and trying to keep their actual physical stores going, so when you described SHIELD, they sprang immediately to mind.

And I know he had some sort of pre-iPad tablet in the first movie that looked unique, so it was probably Stark technology, and it doesn't make sense to do both smartphones and tablets without getting into e-reading.

I was thinking StarkBooks!
