I AM SO GLUM TODAY. I have the mid-menstrual cycle blues and I haven't even tried writing anything in a good couple of weeks, which is just not on, really. I wanted to be a hamster.

This was, of course, before I had learnt that hamsters are the embodiment of all that is evil. Being a fire engine (or truck, if we must) would be MUCH COOLER.

When I was a child, people occasionally asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up.

Naturally, I assumed that this meant that, upon growing up, people magically changed into whatever they wanted to be.

My response was usually, 'A beautiful white rabbit with pink ears.'
