We were tricking with someone in LA a couple of years ago. Came out of his apartment at like 2:30 AM to find the trunk of our rental car open. Besides our personal backpacks containing wallet, phone, palm pilot, camera etc., there was another bag of my square dance calling equipment. My stomach dropped!
We lucked out in that nothing was amiss, but what a fucking wake up call.
Never found out if someone had begun something and was scared away by us/someone else, or if I somehow popped the trunk electronically without realizing it.
