[Gat's still in human form at the moment, and he's walking down a sidewalk on an impromptu errand for Dakki when he spots this guy wandering around the town in his pajamas. He approaches the guy, holding up a hand in greeting.]

Howdy, stranger.

[Gat might have thought nothing of this back on the GUARDIANS Colony-given many of his eccentric coworkers back in the Gurhal system-but here, it's different.]

Oh, wait. I haven't introduced my self yet. Shouldn't be asking you to fight without giving you my name.

I am Kenpachi Zaraki. Captain of Squad 11 of the 13 Court Guard Squads.

Ain't heard of anyone by that name either, though. You might want to try usin' th' telephone in your house. Call around, ask folks if they happen to've heard of any of those folks you know.

[And with that, he proceeds to walk back in the direction of his home.]

["Hook thing." Oy. Gat's reminded of how Aurica tried to pick up the entire phone, base and all, the first day she arrived in Mayfield ...]

Yeah. Jus' be sure you only pick up th' receiver when you use it. Th' dial on th' base is what you use for callin' specific numbers. Drones'll prolly show you how to use 'em if you ask.

Them phones might be old tech, but they get th' job done.

[Gat can't help but wince very slightly at Kenpachi's goodbye. At least the guy's given him fair warning to expect a fight in the future; hopefully a friendly duel, and not like what happened to Dakki.]
