I'm not sure I'd consider a 1.01 MB file all that big for uploading, but since you both suggested it I'm defragging again even though it hasn't been long since the last one.

And it doesn't halt at the end of the upload before finishing. It freezes after the upload is complete.

When was the last time you defragged?

Accessories/System Tools/Disk Defragmenter

If you have lots of files that get moved around alot it can suck up your disk space by leaving lots of little bits of memory that are scattered amongst the others, too small for other stuff to go. (not sure that made much sense... but its Saturday and this "work type stuff")

Also check to see if your machine still has all its RAM going, and do any Windows Updates you might have missed.

I'm defragging again, even though it wasn't very long since my last one, as you've both suggested. Before defrag it's got 25% free space going right now.

My Windows Updates are all up to date. Where do I check the RAM thing?

Defrag done. It's still 25% free, likely because I'd done it so recently.

Why would I need a bigger hard drive? My present one is 100 GB with 20 GB free at presently, and all most all the time, because I move the things I keep to my two externals.

What do I do with the system information piece?

If these other suggestions don't do anything, keep in mind that the spyware programs aren't usually for detecting viruses. If you have a virus on your computer Ad-ware or whatever it's called probably won't pick it up.

How to find it then?

Joe says you can go to download.com and get AVG, which is a free virus scan program... the only one I knew about was Norton but they charge, which is significantly less cool than free stuff.

I used to do AVG as free download, but Avast blew it out of the water plus was a free, constantly, updating one, too. I may download it just to try and check anyway.

Well the obvious answer would be to not use MU anymore. I don't like them much anyway. I much prefer SendSpace. *Shrug* But other than that I can't think of a single reason why your computer would act that way if your protection programs can't detect anything wrong.
