I don't know the song. Have I ever told you my 80s movies sob story?

well. . .

You know my dad was in the Air Force, and I went to 8th - 12th grades in Turkey and Germany, right? Which was 79 - 84. . .

Well, sadly, I got in on some 80s stuff (perms, shoulder pads, socks matching my shirts and peg-leg jeans), but not all 80s stuff. Like the movies. Sadly, I missed all those movies -- Breakfast Club (I've seen parts on tv on Saturday, but never the whole thing, start to finish), Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, St. Elmo's Fire, etc., etc. Lucky me, I have seen About Last Night, which sucked.

I had friends in Chicago who were going to have an 80s movie marathon once and catch me up on pop culture, but our plans fell through :)

Anyway, that's my sad story. . .

Well ... now you have a friend in CO who will renew and keep those plans! We MUST watch those movies... We could make a Saturday of it - we'll cook or order in, drink lots of tasty coffee, make cookies or something else baked since you are the baking queen and I bow humbly before you. Whaddya think? I simply cannot allow you to continue your life without knowing the brat pack.

Shame on Unk for allowing you to go this long in deprivation.

It was "Don't You Forget About Me" by Simple Minds. (I had to look it up online ... you learn something new everyday!) :)

Shadie! Did you read Ant's sob story? Can you believe it?! She must be educated ... I think she's got a pretty good list going already:

The Breakfast Club
Pretty in Pink
Sixteen Candles
(that about covers Molly Ringwald)
St. Elmo's Fire

any others that we're missing?
