What does it mean to *tag* someone, btw?

'Tag' and 'it' are both terms we use (here in the US) when playing chase. Whoever is 'it' is the person who is doing the chasing. When the person who is 'it' catches another kid, they touch or 'tag' them (often saying, "Tag! You're it!").
Does that make sense?

I was just confused about how it related to LJ. It sounded like only those tagged could do the meme and I wanted to do it. And I did, so there!

I added another question to it on my version, btw. Thanks again, it was fun. I'm not known for being able to stick to rules too well, mind you. Sometimes, I cheat... ;-p

I think the whole "tagging" thing must be more of a blogspot concept. I have quite a few friends blogging over there and I've noticed that they never do anything meme-like. My guess would be that tagging people is a way of getting them to do something they wouldn't normally do.
We LJ folk are meme-crazy, though, so tagging isn't really necessary. :)
