I have three hard drives. The drive from my old, deceased desktop, the drive from kim's dead laptop, and a brand new 250 GB drive. I want to fetch data from the first two drives, and use the last one as an external backup/porn repository. So what I want is an external enclosure to plug the first two drives into, pull data off of them onto a PC, ( Read more... )

I'd recommend 2 separate enclosures. 2.5" enclosures are great. They're barely bigger than the HD that they contain, and they're self-powered, so they're a lot more convenient. The enclosure also probably doesn't cost much more than the adaptor.

The other option you could consider is a 5" enclosure, if you think you'd be interested in replacing the 250 GB HD with a DVD burner or something later.

If you want to look into 2.5" enclosures, X-Bit just did a round-up.
