Hey, remember when I was going to write up these long thinky-thoughts on Game of Thrones, SPN and Fringe? *laughs* Yeah I should have known better. That takes time and effort. And as has been previously established I'm ridiculously lazy when I have no motivation.

This is why tumblr is a lazy fangirl's dream come true. I can just reblog OTHER people ( Read more... )

fringe, rambling, olivia dunham, tumblr

I totally agree without about Olivia. There is something strangely off-putting about her character that I have such a hard time with. At first I blamed it on her being another bland blonde**. When a actress is hired for being a long hair blonde thus blending into the greater scape of television. But the further the show goes along it's something else, something TPTB are seeing in Olivia that I simply don't. *shrug* I do think it's why I can't totally ship Peter and Olivia though. I can see their appeal. I just can't make the leap to the next level.

I do, however, also love Astrid and Lincoln to a level of quiet obsession. That may or may not have included considering writing them a small story. hee.

**For the record there are also boring brunettes and required redheads. It's not just a blonde thing. ;)

OMG I would love it if you wrote something!! I know a few people on tumblr who follow my Lincoln/Astrid tumblr that are like, "WHY is there no fic for them anywhere??"

It's actually to the point that I have actually been outlining a fic myself this weekend. xD
Yours would be much much better I'm sure.

I need to do a rewatch though before I can write anything. I might have some time next week though. :)

I can definitely understand your feelings in terms of S1-2. I powered through a lot of the earlier episodes, and only kept with the show because I was intrigued by the overarching theme/story. Olivia was the main reason I never wanted to watch the show and even when I finally started watching it it took a little time to warm to her. I respected her character but I didn't really start to like her until the end of S1. I think the problem is that it didn't feel like there was much to her...she was a pretty straight-forward protagonist. When the cortexiphan stuff started kicking in was a turning point for me because it gave her something to play on a more personal level ( ... )

Yeah, I'm sure it's the chemistry that really keeps me from shipping Peter/Olivia. I mean to me Olivia had WAY more chemistry with that guy in Germany (I forget his name) and hell even Sam and Charlie. And Peter had way more chemistry with that waitress at the end of S2. I just don't feel it between them. Oh well, guess all couples can't be exciting or angsty ( ... )

I always personally liked her with John...and now Lincoln. I remember quotes from both actors in S1 where they went 'Peter and Olivia have a very sibling sort of relationship' and I totally see that, which explains why the romantic component is hard for me to swallow.

Well, redverse!Astrid did seem to have a curiosity towards redverse!Lincoln. I don't think that could ever really amount to anything, but I hope we continue to get little hints because it's interesting (and cute!). I have some hopes for the blueverse versions though...they clearly have the most likelihood of any of the versions to pair off.

I think it is very one-sided romantically right now in regards to the alt!Lincoln/Livia...and I don't know if it will ever amount to anything. I believe alt!Liv trusts alt!Lincoln more than anyone else and has love for him, but I think it would take something big to push her that towards the same romantic feelings. I tend to like the hopelessly-in-love-guy types though, lol.
