Hey, remember when I was going to write up these long thinky-thoughts on Game of Thrones, SPN and Fringe? *laughs* Yeah I should have known better. That takes time and effort. And as has been previously established I'm ridiculously lazy when I have no motivation.

This is why tumblr is a lazy fangirl's dream come true. I can just reblog OTHER people ( Read more... )

I can definitely understand your feelings in terms of S1-2. I powered through a lot of the earlier episodes, and only kept with the show because I was intrigued by the overarching theme/story. Olivia was the main reason I never wanted to watch the show and even when I finally started watching it it took a little time to warm to her. I respected her character but I didn't really start to like her until the end of S1. I think the problem is that it didn't feel like there was much to her...she was a pretty straight-forward protagonist. When the cortexiphan stuff started kicking in was a turning point for me because it gave her something to play on a more personal level.

Also with you on Pete/Olivia. I don't think the actors have any romantic chemistry...and the writing for them as a couple felt rushed (although it was clearly necessary for story purposes). I feel like if maybe we'd had a whole season of romantic hints leading up to Over There it might have played a little better for me. Like you, I don't dislike them...and I think they've been written well, I just don't connect with them as a couple.

I'm much more interested in the possible Lincoln ships ;) I hope you get your wish with Lincoln/Astrid...though I almost wonder if they'd go with the redverse version over the blueverse one?

Yeah, I'm sure it's the chemistry that really keeps me from shipping Peter/Olivia. I mean to me Olivia had WAY more chemistry with that guy in Germany (I forget his name) and hell even Sam and Charlie. And Peter had way more chemistry with that waitress at the end of S2. I just don't feel it between them. Oh well, guess all couples can't be exciting or angsty.

Also, yes I too am all about the Lincoln ships. My original Lincoln/Astrid idea for the ship was before we even knew about our Lincoln, so I was thinking Red Verse Lincoln + Our Astrid would be such a charismatic duo. But then they introduced BlueVerse Lincoln made me really like that ship idea too... so I dunno. lol! =D

I'm also interested in alt!Astrid and her interest in Lincoln. I think it would be exciting to explore an autistic woman's interest in love and/or affection.

And while I adored "Bloodline" and the adorable Lincoln/Alt!Liv stuff I'm still not 100% sure she does or will return the feelings so I'm almost hesitant to let myself ship them. It feels very one-sided so far. I think I want it to work out for them, but I want to wait and see how she is with him first as well.

I always personally liked her with John...and now Lincoln. I remember quotes from both actors in S1 where they went 'Peter and Olivia have a very sibling sort of relationship' and I totally see that, which explains why the romantic component is hard for me to swallow.

Well, redverse!Astrid did seem to have a curiosity towards redverse!Lincoln. I don't think that could ever really amount to anything, but I hope we continue to get little hints because it's interesting (and cute!). I have some hopes for the blueverse versions though...they clearly have the most likelihood of any of the versions to pair off.

I think it is very one-sided romantically right now in regards to the alt!Lincoln/Livia...and I don't know if it will ever amount to anything. I believe alt!Liv trusts alt!Lincoln more than anyone else and has love for him, but I think it would take something big to push her that towards the same romantic feelings. I tend to like the hopelessly-in-love-guy types though, lol.
