Hey...Help?

So a few months ago I had this great idea for a possible novel during NaNoWriMo this year (and since I'm doing Camp NaNo I don't have to wait until November!). My idea seemed pretty cool to me at the time, and I even thought up a couple rough characters and such, but now the more I think about it the more I feel like I will lose steam. So I'm going ( Read more... )

ARG I love this idea so much!!! I also pictured, when you talked about an instant, undeniable connection, like an almost magnetism between the microchips like not only the person but the chip itself has fallen in love (or more like compatability, since it's technology). It was great. It all sounds great! And totally something I'd pick up in a bookstore, read the back cover of and buy! I really like the idea of a malfunctioning chip - or someone having missed getting one... Oh oh oh or that their chip is a lower/smaller/older model implimented that isn't compatible with the newer chips in their generation so they literally can't match with anyone (and everyone in the older generation has already found their match!)!! Oh all the possibilities!

Which one of your side plot ideas excites you the most? I can help you explore your options if you'd like?

AND YAY CAMP NANO!!!!!!

First off, I LOVE your icon! It is so true!!!

And thanks! I've had this idea running in my head for so many months now. I think the side plot I like most is the affair one. But that's only because I love a good, complicated love story like a soap opera. But then I also really like the idea of someone not having a chip at all, or like you suggested having an older model. Like the family couldn't afford getting a new fancy one so they just settle for an old one.

I just can't figure out if I would rather write for a man or woman. I can picture it either way! I think I will write first person, though. But then I am tempted to write in third. Ahh so many options that all sound so good!! hahaha!
Are you doing Camp NaNo??

I am indeed Camp NaNoing! In both June and August actually xD

Have you considered maybe writing the first half from one gender's perspective and the second from the other? Depending on how well the authors pull it off, sometimes books can really work that way! :D

Whoa you're doing both months?! That is so impressive! I can barely get through the first week haha.
What's your username? We should be cabin-mates!

I like that idea, gender to gender then when they finally meet make it third or something. A friend of mine suggested it the other day, too. I may just try it!
Thanks a bunch :)
