Helen breathes in the air, which is not as clean as it could be but much better than some places she has been, already.

"I would like a lettuce," she concedes, tucking a portion of her hair back to observe their surroundings.

"Yes, and I can see radishes," agrees Jamie, who might - just possibly, though he would never admit this - have had just enough chips in Milliways to put him off fried food for a bit.

It is habit by now- and without even a resigned sigh, Joris starts down the rows, looking over the radishes and lettuce.

It works every time.

Jamie feels ever so slightly guilty about this - but it isn't as if they're forcing Joris to go off and fetch things for them. He just does it.

He settles himself onto a patch of green grass and leans back, watching Joris searching through the gardens.

"I suppose he'll notice he's not a slave any longer in the end."
