Title : Looking Beyond
Characters : Cedric/Cho
Rated : PG
Word Count : 394
Prompt : #02; I’m here
Summing It Up : “And for a moment there, she might have finally seen me.”A/N : UGH, I hope you don’t find the ending lame! I really need to stop writing those sad, wistful Cedric/Cho fics and write more fluff than heartaches. LOL!
I watch she makes her way towards the large oak tree, a large book in her hands.
Slowly but surely, she climbs up and hides between the branches, her long raven hair flowing in the wind.
She thinks no one can see her, but I can. I always can.
I see the laughter in her eyes as she navigates about the castle grounds.
I see the peacefulness in her eyes when she sits here and thinks.
I see the tears that glisten when she looks at the lake.
I know she is trying hard not to remember, yet not to forget.
She doesn’t know it, but I’m still watching her. I always am.
I watch as the wind plays with her hair, I watch as pushes it behind her ears.
I watch as a bird lands next to her on the branch, cocking its head as it looks up at her inquisitively.
I watch as she leans back and sighs, a small smile playing at her lips.
I watch as she tilts her head to catch the evening sunlight, looking up beyond the branches.
I watch as she caught my eye, her lips curving into a warm smile.
And for a moment there, she might have finally seen me.

Cho gently closed the book in her lap and slowly descended the tree, pushing herself off and landing on her toes. Instinctively, she walked to the lake, the summer sun warming her face.
She stood there for a moment, staring at the distance. Looking at her feet, she could feel tears prickling behind her eyelids. Lifting her chin, she looked out of the lake and beyond as she whispered softly.
“Hey they Ced, do you miss me? I could swear I saw you there in the tree just now. I could be wrong, but I swear that I have been seeing you around. You have been watching me, haven’t you Ced? You always were. I miss you Ced, but I think I’ll be seeing you soon.”
The summer breeze carried her words away, and looking up, she smiled as she finally saw beyond the lake, beyond it all.
She saw perfection, something special in her eyes.
She saw kindness, a human’s greatest treasure.
She saw love, something that’s always taken for granted.
She saw Cedric Diggory.
And she knew that he’d always been watching.
Don't you think the icon just goes exceptionally well with the story? LOL!
