Yeah. I never figured it'd matter 'cause they didn't have cars at all on Foreas and Arieki-but now I'm stuck in this crazy town and it's bitin' me in the ass.

Just as well, anyway. I think'a "missus" traded'a "family" car for a horse, and I have no idea how to ride one of those, either.

Genetic? I don't think it works that way.

I mean, I don't know how to do masonry or pottery and those've been ages-old skills for us too, right? My forte's chemistry and explosives.

Uh-well, I was 20 an' in college before Earth fell, an' I was livin' off-campus. Most guys I knew, they got their license like right away. I never really bothered.

It wasn't really a problem after that, 'cause the AFS doesn't use cars or vehicles on Foreas or Arieki, just wormholes an' dropships.

But now I'm stuck here in this goofball town and ... I don't know how to drive!

Well ... yeah, but I'm not even sure this house has a car.

One of'a kids assigned here says "the missus" has a horse in'a garage.

But ... I think I'm gonna need to learn how to drive, even without a car of my own. If half'a things I've heard about this town're true, it'd be a survival skill I'd need to have.

Well, I dunno who Rogal Dorn is, but'a Bane kicked our asses pretty easily.
