An epiphany...

For those who don't know, one of my non-fannish hobbies is needlework, mostly cross stitch. Occasionally the interests coincide, like when I stitched that David Tennant picture. I still have this idea of stitching the Stargate point of origin symbol. I'll have to see if my old Pcstitch works with XP or not. It'd be lovely in some starry or sea ( Read more... )

Aww! Cool!

I think everyone has creative competencies that are greater and lesser. I'm on way firmer ground, I've said a million times, with my photoshopping than my fic-writing because the feedback seems more objective. It isn't, of course, I just feel more competent in one area than the other. :)

(Since not everyone was born seeing in Pantone but I kinda was, I'd be happy to help w/this if needed.)

Oh... in reply to other question you asked me, yes, I'm still sick. GI issues like you wouldn't believe and absolutely no money till they pay me again, so restaurant is totally out right now. If you'd be willing to order Chinese or bring food to cook here, though, I'm up for getting together sometime this weekend.

I'm more confident with words. I can look at characterization or scene and know when something's off. (Not plot really, but that's always been a flaw of mine.) I'm confident enough I can tinker with it and make it better. I can't do the same with graphics. I know "Ick it's too bright" but usually I make it worse with the second attempt.

I would love to show the big project off to someone in person though. I don't know how well it's coming across by the scanner/camera.

Sorry to hear you're still sick. I'm having my own issues. Different ones that before, but no less uncomfortable. I could probably swing ordering Chinese one night.
