SimPE Trouble!

Guys, help! I'm having trouble with SimPE.
A few days ago when I went to load it, I got this annoying error message:

I once had a similar problem (not sure if the error message was the same, but something similar anyway), and I tried rebooting, uninstalling and reinstalling SimPE but nothing worked. The only change I had made in my system was installing a Windows update the same day (I'm using XP), so I uninstalled it (= did a system restore to the previous day), and ta-dah! SimPE worked again.

Sadly that didn't work! It may be an update, but I restored back to the beginning of June (I know it was working then!) and SimPE still wouldn't run! Thanks for trying, Anna!

I too have had a SimPE related error, though like anna, I'm not sure that it was the same message. My fix was uninstalling the program, then using a pc "cleaning" to get rid of any bugs and problems, essentially leaving me with a "clean" computer. After all that, I reinstalled it and it seems to work fine now. However, it very well could be a windows update, because with my vista, I've had their updates interfere with many random things.

I swear I'm an airhead sometimes.
I meant to say "then using a pc cleaning program to..."

Also, the program I used is called CCleaner.
