You're right on the money.

If you look at say, FL and NC on a map. You can see where hurricanes have been hitting for hundreds if not thousands of years.

I watched an NPR talk show a few years ago that hosted serious environmental scientists and scholars. One lady caught my attention in her theory of climate change at it's worse. One day will be extremely hot and the next will be extremely cold. This theory stuck in my head for some reason. Right now Chicago has had 8 brutal days of cold...colder than Alaska! Now it's been 4yrs since Florida had two weeks of temperatures below 40°. I froze! If it was possible to chart weather over the last 5yrs in one or two target locations? I'm unsure though...and I have tried to research back dated weather temps without result.

Kinda scary how much of the world is in denial.

I live near Chicago. I don't mind the cold if there is no wind. And it has happened several times in the past that Alaska is warmer than Chicago, esp. in the fall, due to the Pacific. However, we have not yet seen the normal Indian Summer here. So I am thinking that the winter will eventually be above-average warm here. A mild winter is also being predicted by others ( ... )
