[The last day of fighting. It's been going on for so long now, and it's been a state of constant battle since it started for Adell. He's been fighting almost every waking hour so others didn't have to, stopping only to eat and sleep when he was running low on energy. By now, his body's getting pretty tired.
But things aren't over yet, and the

[Lyn doesn't know who this woman is, nor does she really have much experience with guns, but what she does know is that her friend is being attacked. So here she comes, rushing to his defense.]

He too was thrown back quite a distance from the explosions, burns forming on his skin and smoke curling from his clothes. Every part of him was aching now, and he was panting deeply too... the simulated Rozalin did not pull punches that much.
The demon looked back at his friend, seeing she had taken a nasty spill from the concussive force of the blast.]
Lyn... are you all right?
[Though he didn't take his eyes off Rozalin for long. When she landed, even she looked off balance and much more worse for the wear.]

I've had worse. But... do you think she'll be able to do that again?
[She braces herself against the ground, eyes narrowed.]

Easily.
...But she's pretty badly hurt. If we end this quick, she won't get a chance. ...I'll close the gap quickly and keep her distracted. If I don't finish her, you and I can both bring her down. But we'll have to be fast.
[...Because Totenkreuz isn't even her best shot.]

[She brings her blade down by her side, angled behind her for a charge.]
I'll back you up... You can count on me, Adell. Let's take her down.

Illusions spread toward Rozalin in a V-formation, but the hologram isn't fooled or impressed by this. Instead, she's forced to turn around and fire three round bursts at Adell, who's now very close to her. Doesn't look like she's connected...
But in a moment Adell's going to be in her face... and she's distracted.]

The blasts fire off, blazing past both of them as Adell rushes forward ahead of her. As he's about to connect, Lyn summons Kipinn's wind power to her feet, as much of it as she can. Mini-tornados launch her into the air as she springboards off them, and she soars above Adell's head. Calling Tsinku into her blade, the crackle and hum of electricity begins to course through it, and she dives down like an eagle straight at Rozalin.]

Coupled with Lyn's downward, lightning-infused diving strike hitting in at exactly the same time...
There's only a pained yelp from Rozalin as her eyes go wide...
And the hologram fades from view.]

...It's done.
[He glances over his shoulder at the manor itself, surprised it hadn't disappeared, an odd sense of nostalgia for Veldime filling his heart.]

By... the spirits. She was so powerful...
[She's babbling, and she knows it, but it's all she can do to keep focused and not fall over now that the danger is gone and her adrenaline is dropping.]

[Adell walks over to her and sits down next to Lyn. He needs a breather himself after that.]
...You okay?
Reply
[She gives him a weak grin.]
How about you? You took the brunt of most of it.

It'll take more than a pissed off demon princess to put me down.
[He laughs. He's tired, yeah. It's pretty clear. But he's trying to keep the mood light.]

A demon princess... Who was she, anyway?
Reply
[He doesn't mean to be so vague. But he realizes just how little that says and continues.]
...She, uh. Basically her... father, was the Overlord.

I... I think I've heard you mention him before, but I just can't remember when or why.
