Oh, it's so cool that you're writing! : )

This is so gentle and sweet, and I like Ray's uncertainty about the whole Valentine's thing and what Fraser expects of him.

No one was more surprised than me that I actually finished this. :) It was really fun to play with a softer, in love side of Ray. So glad you enjoyed it.

Oh my, that's lovely. The hesitation and uncertainty is very real and familiar, but they are still Ray and Fraser.

She'd become distracted while seductively licking a cherry tootsie pop, and got it stuck to Dief's coat.

Oh Frannie. Poor Dief. *giggles*

Colour

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And Fraser would love it.

this is what Fraser wants--just their ordinary happiness

You did such a great job of picturing their ordinary happiness, with the neighbours, playing in the snow, cold air and glowing cheeks, reminiscing, making plans and, of course, food. Ordinary happiness is extra-ordinarily precious.

Thank you. You made me happy :)

I'm delighted that you had a good time with the story, so glad to bring a little happiness to you. I had so much fun writing this, and adding in things I know you enjoy, so..yay! Ordinary happiness is something to strive for, and it is what I would hope for for Fraser and Ray. :)

Oh, thank you, SB. Your comments mean a lot to me. I'm especially tickled that you mentioned the visual/photographic aspect. I hadn't written in quite awhile. Many of my creative impulses are visual. I am a photographer without a camera much in the same way I've been a writer who never writes. I'd dearly love to write more fanfiction this year. I am thinking about getting a camera again, too, mostly thanks to lamentables.

EE! This made me fuzzy.

He didn't say I missed you, but Fraser gets it.
Mmmm.

Loved how Dief herds Ray. Remember, the wolf-dog always nips the detective's weight-bearing leg to avoid getting kicked. :)

Great descriptions: loved Dief's tail-flag and the view of twilight falling.

the food was always tall and sauce was always squiggled on the plate

Perfect capture of those types of places! I saw it vividly.

Roses with no smell. Right. For your strange, whittle-it-yourself, whatever-they-were of three months.

Ack! Poor Ray. But,

Fraser said we've got potatoes.

And Ray figures it out in the grocery store, which really is the appropriate venue for all of life's epiphanies, I've found.

God, this whole thing was so quiet and sweet and made me wibble a little. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Oh. *sighs* That was lovely. Fraser would want the ordinary happiness and not the plastic trappings of Valentine's Day. Though, I do have to say that the gifts Ray chose for him are perfect. Gloves, that he can actually use, and a book they can both enjoy and discuss. So much better than roses with no smell. *squishes them together*

Thank you, akite. As you may guess, I had a lot of fun with the ideas for gifts. Thanks for reading.
