just curious where does the hip toss (my favorite throw by far) fit into this scheme?

People use the term hip-toss to mean different things.

no. the hip toss is not in judo, because it doesn't use a gi. It's a greco roman move. you position your body so that you are at a T to his hips and kind of push against your opponent if you feel him push back you dip your legs and bump your hips against him and toss him over your shoulder.

I can't find an example of it online, but it's one of the single most common greco moves.

I think I know which throw you mean, I'll double check with a wrestler buddy and then draw you a spiral...assuming i don't forget.
