Weather

Come on, people! It's just some snow. I'm hearing anecdotes about people freaking out and making runs on the grocery stores and the like. Obviously, they were living in SoCal or possibly Hawaii until 4 years ago or something. I know I'm not the only one who was around here in 1994, when we had thirteen blizzards that winter.

The Toyota thing must be a government conspiracy to sell more GM cars. It has to be. ;)

One of my friends, who was also pregoo during the '94 winter (like I was), reminded me that we got snow probably 3 non-continguous days a week for 9 weeks that winter, AND the entire area was covered with an ice sheet.

If it snowed here, I probably would do a panic run.

I'd do it in my car (more used to it, larger cargo capacity, closer to winter tyres; the wife's car is on fair-weather-only rubber bands) and I'd do it because it never freakin' snows here, so nobody knows how to react.

And then I'd turtle up until things calmed down.

But where you are, snow is something that happens on a regular basis. People should know how to deal with it!

Heh. The first two words that came to mind when I started hearing all the crap about Toyota was 'Ford Pinto'.

We don't get much snow panic here. It's more "goody goody, we're going to have a new 15" of snow!". Looking at the maps, if DC is going to get 20-30" they might need to be thinking about doing a little getting ready. The rest of y'all... not so much. :)
