God only knows where he got that word...though it does remind me of a review of Gladiator I heard on NPR years ago when the movie first came out. They interviewed an elderly female historian and her verdict, essentially, was that the movie itself was pretty inaccurate but "Russell Crowe is SPLENDID!" (Just something about the gleeful way she said it....made me think she'd have crawled up his leather skirt in a heartbeat, given half a chance.)
So it's possible the D-mon has heard me say something was "SPLENDID!" at some point.
"I'm annoyed at myself mostly for not checking the pockets of her jeans."
Checking pockets for loose change or kleenex or bits of paper, sure. Making sure a highly advanced piece of technological equipment isn't still lurking in there, not so much (still a bummer though).
They were -sitting- on the -washer- looking like they wanted to be washed. I just assumed that, since there were clothes ON THE WASHER that they NEEDED TO BE WASHED. And were, in fact, READY for said washing.
Silly me. ;)
In her defense, she had changed in the downstairs powder room, and didn't want to dump her clothes in the middle of the living room floor of my new (and decidedly messy) house. And it was a trifle amusing, as the phone DID turn on (although it wouldn't actually do anything) and there were little bubbles of water over her display. :D
Yes, I deserve to be in a laundry lockup somewhere. Oooh, that would mean I wouldn't have to do any more laundry for awhile tho... silver lining to every cloud!
