((I feel like the only characters I'm responding to are yours... Sorry about that. Feel free to kick me out of this log if you wish/had other plans))

It had been, well, a long time since Sven had heard someone play the piano. Hell, it had been a long time she'd he'd had a moment of peace long enough to assume he could even listen to the piano if he wanted to. He'd lingered outside the hotel for some time, just listening. The hotel wasn't somewhere you'd ever find Sven. While money wasn't an issue here, he was still too concerned with getting meals each day to splurge on lodging. The music, however, had drawn him inside. It was a slow process. The lobby near the door, the lobby near the hall, down the hall, outside the ballroom... It may be slow, but it was progress, and now he could hear the music much better. Sven closed his eyes and let his thoughts drift as he leaned against the wall just outside the ballroom door.

Kyouya walked back in to find Sven on the ground pointing a small pistol at Tamaki. He sighed only imagining what the other had done to cause the situation. Walking over to the table and setting down the tray with the tea and desert on it, Kyouya adjusted his glasses and cleared his throat adressing the older man, "That won't do you any good here. Even in the event that you were to use it he would be back within the week." Picking up a single cup he took it over and held it out for the other, "Also, as a former officer I'm certain that even you would not use it in such a manner."

H-Ha? A cold sweat drop slid down the side of Tamaki's face. A gun? He was pointing a gun at him!? The king slowly raised his hands up when he saw Kyouya return. His eyes full of tears, he slowly turned his head to look at his friend as his lips shivered. "K-K-Kyouya~~~~" Ah his light of hope just walked through the door, he thought until...

Hearing his friend's come back to the situation, Tamaki's mouth dropped wide open in disbelief. "K-K-Kyouya-kun~ ahhh, sniffles." It was true that death was irrelevant here but he still wouldn't have wanted to be shot at. He hugged his knees and sat in his dark corner. He could have negotiated for his life or something rather than putting it that way. It would have at least been dramatic.

Sven just stared at Kyouya. "Back within the week?" he questioned. Did that mean you couldn't die here? Was that even possible? It took Sven a rather long time to get past that little tidbit of information and reach the second statement. The shooting would have been self defense, totally reasonable. "I hadn't actually been intending on shooting him," Sven stated. He'd slipped into a rather professional sounding voice, one he didn't get a chance to use very often at home. The sweeper stored the gun back into the inside of his suit coat and stood, brushing himself off. "I've learned that threats tend to work better than action at times." He glanced over towards Tamaki with just the hint of satisfaction and amusement. "It seems it worked well this time."

Kyouya sat the cup on the table next to the other since he hadn't taken it. Ignoring Tamaki being curled up in the corner the boy crossed his arms, "That's an interesting view, I'll be certain to pass that information along to my families private police." Returning to the tray where the other glasses and cakes were, picking up his own, "In any case, I take it that you're a new resident of vortexx."

Ignored. Completely ignored by the two. That's right. It's ok. He didn't almost get SHOT at for showing hospitality. Tamaki's finger weakly drew circles onto the ground as he grumbled to himself, glancing at the two once in a while. The man seemed like a respectable man. It would be interesting to hear what his story is.

Sven forced himself to keep his face impassive. Private police? Note to self, keep an eye on this one. As far as Sven was concerned, having private police around wasn't a good thing. It typically meant you were doing something you weren't supposed to be doing. That was all he'd run into so far at least.

"New enough I guess," Sven replied. "I was here during the bug fiasco. Had a good time blowing up a few." He picked up the cup and took a sip. Right away Sven's face lit up. He'd never had any tea this good before. He'd never had anything that tasted even remotely like it! Sven lifted his eyes from the tea cup and smiled at Kyouya. "I'm impressed."

Kyouya smirked at the last comment of Sven's, "Thank you, I'm glad that you enjoy it." Taking a seat Kyouya picked up a cup for himself and took a sip. "It was a selection chosen by Tamaki himself, though the particular blend is one that we had not tried previous to the previous event."

Tamaki's ear widened as he heard his name in appraisal and sprung up from his position. Quickly appearing between where Sven and Kyouya were sitting, the king placed the web of his index and thumb under his chin as he spoke with enthusiasm with nods of his head. "Ohhhh is that so~!? I'm pleased to hear that~! It is our duty to find the finest to serve our clients after all~!"

Happily smiling as if the conflict a moment ago had meant nothing to him, he leaned his one hand onto Kyouya's seat, taking a comfortable stance. "But that's amazing how you were able to fend off those bugs on your own. Retrieving food required several planning for us."

Geh. Sven drew back a moment, a look of shock on his face. "Rather fast recovery you've got there," he muttered. What was wrong with this guy? His emotions were all over the place! For once Sven was thanking whoever was above for Train.

"Try explosives next time," Sven stated. "They seemed to work pretty well. As did electricity." Sven paused a moment, a terrifying image entering his mind. "Ah, on the other hand... let someone else do it so you don't blow the entire city up."

"We will take that advice into hand, unfortunately the help that we had acquired seems to have left." Kyouya took another sip of his tea opening the folder in front of him and glancing at the notes. "Fortunately the supply that we had was enough to where even with the lost portion we were able to feed those who were here."

Tamaki glanced from Sven to Kyouya as each spoke. It was true. The bodyguard that they had hired had left the city and there no longer was anyone who could keep the hosts and the clients safe. The king took another look at the former cop as a thought crossed his mind. Closing his eyes and letting out a soft sigh, he slowly re-opened them when he made his decision.

A gentle yet saddened smile came across his lips as he began to tell a story while looking about the room- the room where he was when things went down. "Sven-san, there had been a time during one of our events where numerous hosts had been attacked by some unknown thing. Ever since then, we decided that having a host bodyguard would be the best thing for ourselves and our clients. However, now even that support is gone from this world, leaving us susceptible to any future attacks." The king brought his attention back to the man as he continued. "What do you say, sir? Would you be interested in watching over our host club?"

Gah. Tamaki couldn't have hit Sven in a more susceptibility spot. Anything that had to do with protecting women dragged him in, no matter how dangerous it was. Sven sighed, knowing he couldn't refuse Tamaki though the thought of working for him was a bit painful.

Sven straightened and clapped a fist over his heart. "If it has to do with protecting women, you can count me in. I'll do the job well."

"Not all of our clients are women, but the majority are. Also, you will be compensated for your services accordingly as well." Kyouya took another sip of his tea before looking back down at his notes, "There will be a chance for you to meet each of the hosts in the coming week, we will be preparing to begin our events once again."

"Ah, excellent~! Thank you very much! Then officially, I ask for your support in our future events." The king was glad to hear that Sven was interested in taking on the job. He wanted to make sure everything was safe for everyone and vowed never to let something like that ever happen again. He had faith in the older man and somehow knew he'd do splendid job protecting them, not to mention how passionate (?) he seemed about it.

"Speaking of events..." Tamaki began as his smile widened with each thought, gesturing with his arms to emphases each word. "There has been one thing I've been meaning to introduce to our wealthy clients back at home. Ah~ what other than going back to the root of Japan~ by enjoying our company while soaking ones body in the traditional hot springs~! This is what would truly be called experiencing 'skin-ship'~!" He ended with a fist in the air as he enthusiastically spoke his last word. Ah~ such a glorious word. One that expressed true bonding between men!

Sven nodded when they agreed and immediately began thinking of the supplies he would need. The attache case was obvious. As was the gun he always kept with him. However, this place seemed to have some rather strange enemies. Perhaps he would need to invent some other device to keep everyone safe. Sven had completely tuned out Tamaki's rambling about the next host club event.
