LOL, one of the main problems I have the commute in this heat is not so much the temperatures but all the grumpy people prepared for the worse! Yesterday's journey in was terrible in that respect, bearing in mind that the Jubilee line doesn't get THAT hot, compared to other lines and particularly in the morning, yet everyone was cranky as hell.
*touch wood* I have managed to work out a route home with minimal discomfort - just as long as the circle and jubilee lines work well and not too crowded - any problems and all hell will break loose!
That's true, any extreme of weather here does tend to bring out the worst in people, especially on a packed train! Hopefully, if the forecasters are to be believed, we'll be through the worst of it by this weekend...
i hope so, couldn't take this all summer. Its not so painfully hot in the office today, however not sure if my decision to have a quick lunchtime drink in the Students Union garden has helped. Now feel all warm and sleepy! :-)
Lunchtime drinks? In this weather? :/ I'm not sure that I would, staying awake in front of Excel spreadsheets after lunch has never been one of my strong points!
It's been going on for some time now - it's one of those events which I keep hearing of and then say "oh, I'm too busy, I'll go to that next year." And suddenly five or six slip past...
We're definitely going to this one though, as a friend (enlyyl) is running a crafts stall and we promised we'd come and check it out. There should be quite a lot going on there, by the sounds of it :)
