Quiet Week keeps on rockin'

Actually, it’s not really a ‘quiet week’ for me, as I’ve been very busy for the last few days. I’ve just not been busy with anything remotely interesting, that’s all.

Childrens’ bookIt’s been a week since I emailed the editors of my two local newspapers and they haven’t responded. This is kind of disappointing, but then, since I’m only the ( Read more... )

I make more money from 'word of mouth' stuff than anything I've set up online...their fees/commission hardly makes it worthwhile. Good luck anyway.
PS excellent wedding guest tactic..just the sort of comment I find hilarious for hours

Yeah, with the painting side of things I'd be inclined to agree. Not so much with the illustrations, but that's probably my own fault for trying to be a jack of all trades... I think I'll focus more o nthis method in future though, definitely.

Great to meet you last week, mate. Keep the head up and I would suggest against shouting out such rude comments at a wedding: you may end up with the death of a few grannies on your conscience. ;-)

Yeah, good to meet you too! The thing with making rude comments at weddings is to never make them sound rehearsed... oh well, I'm sure I'll manage to ad lib something else once I've had a couple of glasses of champagne.

lol glad to know that six (yes tomorrow its six months!) on we can still hold out own in the wedding stakes.

Wow, you're absolutely right! I was thinking in terms of it being about two or three months back, but yes, it actually has been half a year! (hides)

That is pretty much my attitude with the illustration work. I still have a lot of effort to put into it (allegedly, anyway) but from this point on I may try focusing on different directions. As Thomas Edison said after 400 failed attempts at making the light bulb work, "that's 400 failures less to worry about before I succeed." Or words to that effect.

I know some people who are having more success with etsy.com, though I don't know if that's what you're looking for...

I just a had a little browse on that site and it looks potentially interesting, thanks for letting me know! I'll have a proper look at the terms and stuff later, when I have some more time :)
