She's not even the first female VP candidate, either, so she isn't making as much history as some are claiming. Should McCain win she will, but right now this nomination isn't anything new. I think it's only a surprise to people because female candidates for such a position are so rare, and I'm pretty sure both McCain and Obama know that (although 60 Minutes did mention the nomination blind-sided the Obama party too).
One thing is for sure, though: this election year is getting more and more interesting.
Well, generally I try not to speak about politic's, .... ever. Because I'm not good at sharing my thoughts in general. However, since you made this post, I feel I MUST respond. So, here's what I know about Palin.
She's a super fundie actually. To be honest, I'm really terrified of her and McCain making it to office. I mean, God, her stances are just bad for women everywhere. Besides her anti-choice stance, she's also strongly for abstinence-only sex education (which is just all kinds of retarded.)
She's also strongly for teaching creation theory in public schools. Which is something that I firmly believe really doesn't belong in public schools. If they want their kids to learn that, then teach them at churchShe's also said, in response to a question about the term "under god" in the pledge of allegiance, "If it was good enough for our founding fathers, it's good enough for us
