When October Goes...

I usually refer to November as my "month of suck" or "month of pain" or some other such term.

November is always the month most associated with my mother's memory.  November 1 was her birthday.  She was married in November.  November 10 was the day she died.  She was buried in November.  Thanksgiving, a once enjoyable holiday filled with family and ( Read more... )

Yarrr, i'm with you on this one.. Nov 1 is also my little sister's birthday whom we lost to suicide when she was 17... it begins the darkest months of the season for me and tends to run straight until spring of the next year.

Harena didn't mention also that Fall was Jenny's favorite time of year; she liked to draw skeletal, leafless trees -- which of course one sees rather a lot of this time of year, thus further evoking memories. So, yeah, we're familiar with the multiple whammy syndrome.

And along those lines:

1. One of the things I did towards dealing with the loss was to set up a commemorative web page for her (actually lots of pages, but not a separate site), so that her spirit will be preserved in some sense. I've got a lot more material than I've had time to put up, but it's an outlet when I feel like I need to, sort of, be with her for a bit. Sucks a lot less than a gravestone.

2. If you ever need to talk, you know my IM.
