Past weeks I've been watching TOS for the first time in my life (I've heard that I did watch some as a child but I can't remember), so this is literally my first ever Star Trek fanfic. i think you need to check some words with a beta, and definitly is jj abrahams or au.
because Tos jim never was in the academy with Bones.
and Tos Jim enter the academy at 17 or 18 and he was very good student very nerdy one in fact and professor assistant while studing. he was friend with Gary mitchel at the academy a year behind him who was the one who obligue him to get out and to date and such.

Jim met Bones in one of the ships he serve in after the academy.

Ok ok, reboot it completely then. I marked it au now since I was thinking about TOS-level obviousness even though Bones and Jim seem clearly rebooot versions. As I mentioned in the beginning I have just watched TOS so I knew those facts but I didn't think them as important as the general feel of the characters. Since I now have two reviews on the matter I think I'll remove the whole TOS mark completely.

About the beta... I wish I had one, but I write so seldom and of various fandoms that I haven't found a beta who'd keep up with my interests yet. And one time when I had a beta ... ugh, my texts came back even worse from them. So I'd need someone I can trust. :P

You've definitely got something here, but as ariadnechan says you'd benefit from a beta. In most communities you can post a request for a volunteer beta without offending the mods - some even keep a 'register' of people willing to act in the capacity.

And yes, if Jim and Bones were at the academy together, you're definitely in reboot territory. Bones wasn't even assigned to the Enterprise at the beginning of TOS. There's a Wiki called Memory Alpha (http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Portal:Main) that's great for all these nit-picky details.

Yup, I'd love to have a beta, but I'd need to be sure they are good, I've had bad experiences before :P

That academy part was why it's now been labelled "TOS au" ... I guess I should just remove TOS completely or elaborate why it's mentioned. :P I agree Memory Alpha is a life saver for fanfic writing. :)
